Men and sex

You may think that men want sex all the time, right? You would be surprise that it is not always the case. Surprise, surprise!!!

That is a common misunderstanding and it is based on the mistaken belief that men are wired to want sex whenever they can get it.

Here are some interesting (but true) reason why men reject sex (taken from HealthToday):

Medication
Antidepressants are often the culprit when a man has a lowered interest in sexual activity.

Lack of sleep
The opportunity to have sex will often overwhelm the desire to sleep for younger men. This is also often true when a relationship is brand new. But as people age, sex lose its compelling attraction and sleep seem more tempting.

Hormonal levels
Testosterone level is relevant to how much sex he desires.

Quality over quantity
Some men will rather avoid sex altogether than to have sex that is not fulfilling to them.

Stress
Stress comes in many forms and may stem from financial difficulties, personal or family problem.

Disagreement
When you are in argument most of the time, men will avoid sex or just plain refuse their partner’s advance.

If your man does not want sex, the worst thing you could do is to criticize or belittle his manhood. Find out the cause of his lack of interest, when necessary, obtain professional help.

Our girl is growing up

Once a while we just love to look back at our family album, particularly Little J when she was a baby. The memories that come with all those photographs. The other day, while we were sorting out the old photographs of her, Big J was commenting to me that Little J is growing up very fast and hard to believe that she is already 2 years old plus. He feels guilty on not spending much time with her and sad as she is not close to him. Sigh!
But I admit Little J is growing up and she has her own personality. A hard-headed girl (like her mummy), cheeky (like her daddy) and adorable (she has a bit of our facial when we were babies, according to our parents). Luckily both parents (my parents and PIL) took a lot of baby photographs, so we have chance to compare ours with Little J's pictures. Sometimes she looks like Big J but other days, she looks so much like me.

Paint Attack!

Big J has gone to Santubong on one fine Sunday afternoon. Not for a swim at the beautiful Santubong or Damai beaches, mind you, but to play paintball. Initially I was envy of him for having so much fun and me staying with Little J at home, but after seeing him with all those paints on his shirts and pants, I had second thought. Believe me, it is painful being shot by the pellets.

Few paintball enthusiastic friends gathered together that day and divided into 2 groups. With paintball gun and loaded with colour pellets in their arms, they ran into the juggle and headed to the battlefield. Big J was complaining regardless of the fun, it was challenging and dangerous to crawl and walk into the jungle as some paths were rather slippery. Big J tripped on one occasion resulted on him having bruises all over his body.

After many rounds of pellets flying all over the places, the emerging champion was Big J’s team. His team won but Big J got his share of paints as he was attacked by 2 enemies at the final tie. His first time playing paintball, but Big J said he would love to play another game next time. It is not just an attack and defense game, according to him, but about team work and survival in the jungle. When he reached home that evening, he was too tired that he did not have energy to take bath and almost crawl to bed. Let’s say he is lethargic till he just wants to do or eat nothing. That night, he slept like a baby till the next morning without a stir.

Depressed women turns to their girlfriends

When you feel like having a shoulder to cry on, would you turn to your boyfriends or girlfriends? Studies reveal that depressed women that go to boyfriends for comfort will end up even more depressed. Why? Generally men will shunned from comforting their girlfriends as they do not really know how to deal with such situation and give advices to their depressed girlfriends.

Depression is common among women than men. It is generally defined as two or more weeks of symptoms that can include feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, insomnia or oversleeping and eating disorder.

Young women struggling with depression often seek emotional support from their boyfriend. However they are not doing themselves any favours. Boyfriends tend to detach themselves from depressed girlfriends while female friends move in closer to provide a shoulder to cry on. The more depressed a girl becomes, the less supportive her boyfriend is and the more supportive her girlfriend is.

Girlfriends will not hesitate to knock at your doors and comfort you when you are in distress. The research also shown that levels of support went up among close female friends and dropped among boyfriends during times of depression. The support from girlfriends is soothing as they are more comfortable about being empathetic and listening, Many girlfriends like being caretakers and caregivers. With boys when a fiend of theirs is down, they may retreat more from the relationship

So, turn to your girlfriends if you want to feel better. Girlfriends are for keeping.

Gardening after 2 weeks

After 2 weeks, no sign of tomatoes in our garden. I guess the tomato planting project failed for both Big J and Little J. Never mind, the most important thing is that Little J has fun and daddy and daughter spending some good time together.

My Saturday

Here I am on a Saturday afternoon. Hardly 30 minutes of my beauty sleep, I was rudely awaken by Big J when he just back from his office. Yeah, he is working 5 days a week, but still very committed and go back to his office on Saturdays.

It is also a working Saturday for me, and I just go myself a hair cut. Yes! Totally trimming off my long locks, my head feels very light. Just a bit not get used to it for the time being.

Since I cant sleep (you know I am a light sleeper), I thought I go blog hopping and visit some of my friend’s blogs. Missing you all.

It rains pretty heavy now. We did not have rain for almost a week here so it feels heaven to have such rain on a Saturday afternoon. It has been like oven when we stepped out of our air-conditioned bedroom. The temperature is soaring here. Hopefully the rain will cool down the temperature a bit.

We are going to have a relaxing Saturday evening later. Planning to bring MIL for a shopping and dinner later. She is going back tomorrow morning, so we are trying to spend as much time with her. Last night, me and Little J follow her and my sis-in-law visiting around. We stopped at an aunty’s house, checking on her as she just undergo an operation. Glad that she is alright. Then, we make a stop at a cousin’s apartment, wanting to see her 1 year old plus daughter. Boy! Kids really grow up fast. The cousin’s daughter can walk and she is even more cheeky than my Little J. But both made up an adorable pair. Unfortunately I didn’t bring any camera to take shot of both girls. Next time!!!
