The day before school

How happy that the kids are back to school!! No more messes and less arguments in the house.

We spent a couple of days in Sri Aman, then went to Lundu for its beach. And tuition and afternoon classes started again last week. Jay was not well last Friday but happy that he has recovered in time for school.

Yesterday, everyone woke up early. Slightly after 7am and since the weather was good, we went to the nearby park for a morning walks and exercises.

Kids were sweating out. Everyone did.

In the evening, we went to the pool to cool ourselves down. The water was nice and warm. Everyone has a big splash and water fight.

At night, the kids had an early night. Even Jamie dozed off after the bath from the pool.

When is the next long school holiday? Would not be that soon, I think.

What they did in April

Kids were busy rehearsing for their 1st church repertoire

Never ending schoolworks, spellings and revisions. Noticed that more schoolworks for Jay this semester.

Tuition centre hunting for the kids and glad we found one nearby.

Weather is turning warm and one evening I treated them to a cooling sweet dessert of yogurt ice-cream

Jan went for her grade 2 piano exam, which she passed with merit of 135/150 marks

Kids entered a colouring competition on one Sunday morning

Celebrated Jan's 10th birthday with a lunch treat and birthday cake

They have time to play together and some nights, everyone has sleepover in my room.

Friday night fun

When the daddy is not in, the kids go out to play!! @_@

Gong gong (grandpa) brought the kids for a little play time last night. Of course the kids could not resist and let go.

The next round they come here would be when Big J goes travelling. Lol.

Evening in the pool

It was brutally warm lately and what is better than to beat the heat with a dip in the pool. The kids were happy to play in the water and it sure stirred up their appetite after the aqua exercise. *wink*

The kids' cousin also joined in the fun so it was very rowdy affair in the pool when the kids get together. But all for the name of fun.

And Jamie also have good time in his rubber ring.

After the fun, we treated the kids to Happy Meal in McD's and everyone finished up their burgers effortlessly. *wink*

Save the frozen

Let it go! Let it go!

Save the frozen from the ice.

Since the kids were restless, I planned a little fun for them before their bath time.

Pre-freeze some toys preferably animals but I could not find all animals to fit into 3 containers so I mixed with other toys. Freeze the toys half way in the containers. Once they are frozen, add more water to full. This is to ensure the toys stayed half way in the ice.

Play time!!
How eager were them hitting the ice with metal spoons!! Even Jamie also testing the cold ice with his finger.

Then I added some water to the frozen toys to melt them. Now it was much easier to hit.

 Bbbrrrrr! Freezing!!
She got Strawberry Shortcake and little crab.

He saved Master Monkey.

After all the freezing fun, everyone was off to a warm bath, including the mummy.

Safety 1st then play

Just a few rounds in the car porch. Let Jan and Jay had some fun riding their bike and scooter.

But safety first, according to Jay. He immediately went to get the proper safety gears.

Both looked so serious in wearing their gears.

Ended up I told them to just wear helmets since just ride in a small space. They were much obliged.

As for the little one, he just has to be content with his car indoor.

When you put them in a room...

When cousins meet cousins, this is what happen!

Fun!

It is a joy to see children have fun and play together.

My Jamie also does not want to be left out! Spot a new toy here. Boys. They always have soft spot for trucks and vehicles.

How to draw and colour the beach

After the tutorial on how to draw and color a coconut tree the week before, the kids were in another lesson last Sunday by their dad on drawing and coloring the beach.
Again mixing and matching colors with basic colors. Big J taught the kids on brush strokes, how to use colors and water to create the color tones of the sky, sea and beach.

Both kids tried their hand on the art

Big J's final artwork

After that, Big J treated the kids at their favourite fast-food. *wink* Now they are so look forward to every Sunday's art but Big J will be travelling this weekend, so no lesson till next month.

Colours a coconut tree

Big J taught the kids on how to draw and color a coconut tree today. A basic tutorial on how to mix and match water colours.
Using the basic colours to mix and turn into other colours or secondary colours.
Check out Jay's tree! Looks like Xmas tree more than a coconut tree
Jan is more attentive and managed to get her tree done properly.
